From Marrakech to Ouarzazate and back through Telouet — the roads, the fuel stops and the passes worth waking up early for.
The classic Atlas loop packs switchbacks, high plateaus and red-rock gorges into five comfortable days. Start early: light on the Tizi n'Tichka before 09:00 is worth the alarm.
Day two takes you through Aït Benhaddou toward Ouarzazate, where fuel is plentiful and hotels are used to riders arriving covered in dust.
The Telouet road on the return leg is narrow, spectacular and best ridden on adventure rubber. Carry water — services are sparse for 80 kilometres.
