Chain maintenance: the 10-minute ritual

Service Network5 min read

How to keep your final drive quiet, efficient and long-lived in dusty conditions.

Sand is the enemy of a chain. In Moroccan conditions we recommend cleaning and lubricating every 500 km rather than the 1 000 km in the manual.

Use a dedicated chain cleaner, a soft brush and a lint-free cloth. Lubricate the inner side of the chain while the wheel turns slowly, then let it set for ten minutes before riding.

Check slack at the tightest point of rotation and adjust to the specification stamped on the swingarm.
